FRANKTON — Cole Stitt overpowered the remnants of Hurricane Helene as well as the Frankton defense, scoring four first-half touchdowns Friday and leading Class 1A fourth-ranked Madison-Grant to a 49-0 rout at Otis Cress Field, spoiling homecoming for the Eagles on a rainy and windy night. At 6-0, Madison-Grant is off to its best start since the 1996 squad won its first nine games of the season, while the Eagles fell to 0-6 for the first time since 2010. Stitt, who entered the game with 10 touchdowns on the season, scored on the first two plays from scrimmage for M-G. After forcing a Frankton punt on the first Eagles’ possession, Stitt dashed 44 yards, and after an O.J. Blackwell interception, he scored again from 24 yards out for an early 14-0 lead. The Argylls chewed up most of the second-period clock before Stitt plunged in from a yard out, and after Rosin White ran in from 6 yards, Stitt capped the half with a 4-yard touchdown just before halftime, triggering a second-half running clock with a 36-0 lead. White added a 16-yard touchdown run to open the third quarter, and freshman Hank Rudy scored on a 3-yard run in the fourth. This was Madison-Grant’s final road game of the season. The Argylls will close out the season at home against Eastbrook, Alexandria and Mississinewa over the next three weeks. Frankton will play at Alexandria next Friday. — Rob Hunt, The Herald Bulletin A
